- Account Information: Phone number (for authentication via OTP), username, profile photo, bio
- Content: Audio clips you create, comments, likes, and saved items
- Verification Information: If you choose to become verified, we may collect additional information such as your school/university, physical address, and topic preferences to verify your identity and personalize your experience. Verification is free and does not require payment.
- Communications: When you contact us for support
Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers
- Usage Data: Clips played, listening history, search queries, app interactions
- Log Data: IP address, access times, app crashes, and diagnostics
2. How We Use Your Information
- Provide the Service: Deliver content, enable features, and verify user identities
- Personalization: Customize your feed and recommendations based on listening preferences
- Authentication: Verify your identity via SMS one-time passwords (OTP)
- Communication: Send service-related messages and respond to support requests

- Supabase (database and authentication hosting)
- Twilio (SMS delivery for OTP)
- Listen Notes (podcast data API)
- OpenAI (content processing)
- Legal Requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect rights and safety
- With Your Consent: When you share clips publicly or direct us to share information
- Business Transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets
We do not sell your personal information to third parties for monetary consideration.
4. Third-Party Links & Content
ClipDeck streams podcast audio from third-party publishers and may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
5. Advertising & Tracking
We may display advertisements within the Service. We may use device identifiers and usage data to deliver relevant ads and measure their effectiveness.
Your Choices:
- On iOS, you can limit ad tracking in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking
- You can opt out of personalized ads through your device's advertising settings
We honor the iOS App Tracking Transparency framework. We will request your permission before tracking your activity across other companies' apps and websites.
6. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. We may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (e.g., resolving disputes, enforcing agreements).

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. International Users
ClipDeck is operated from the United States. If you access the Service from outside the US, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction.
